Over 60 students are active participants in the 2007-08 choral season, enrolled in Chorus I, Chorus II and Charlottesville Singers, all under the direction of Will Cooke.
Course of Study All three choirs are engaged in a serious study of vocal music. Students read music for parts and are taught to attend to quality of tone, accurate intonation, music dynamics and tempo. Chorus I is open to students in all grades; Chorus 2 is open to students in grades 10-12. The Charlottesville Singers performing group is composed of the most accomplished students, selected by audition.
Community Performances The students enjoy sharing their gift of music with the wider Charlottesville community — including retirement homes, community boards and civic organizations. If you would like a CHS Choir to perform at your meeting or event, please contact us. |
